Le Veilleur
At the invitation of the French Institute to create a scenography for the reopening of the Villa Kujoyama, José Lévy created «Le Veilleur», a seven-meter-high samurai paper samurai lantern, inspired in large part by nebutas, very popular in Japan and with its own family history largely related toJa- pan. Made with the Kyoto University of Traditional Arts, this unique pieceis the natural extension of the creative work of José Lévy, former winner ofthe Villa Kujoyama in 2011. It is also a very per- sonal tribute of the designer to the culture and to Japanese art for which he has so many affinities.
