PAVILLON DE FRANCE WORLD EXPO OSAKA 2025
Creative Director
The Pavilion reflects this mutual attraction, showcasing a selection from the French scene of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. It is a tribute to France’s love for Japan through decorative arts, craftsmanship, photography, color, nature, and floral art.
I have infused three main themes into the Pavilion: French decorative arts, Japanese decorative arts, and the beauty of nature in both countries.
VILLA KUJOYAMA
10 years of Métiers d’Art
Scenograpaher and Curator
To celebrate a decade of residencies dedicated to Métiers d’Art, Villa Kujoyama has entrusted the scenography and the curation of the event to José Lévy, former resident and multidisciplinary creator. As the emotional architect of the project, he envisions an immersive scenography blending installations, performances, and artist testimonies, illustrating the transformative impact of this Franco-Japanese residency. By weaving a dialogue between heritage and modernity, Villa Kujoyama reaffirms its role as a catalyst for encounters and cross-cultural inspiration.
SERAX
Glass Towers
José Lévy unveils his new collection for Serax, a series of glass vases available in six different sizes and colors. Inspired by Tokyo’s transparent skyscrapers and the vibrant hues of flowers, the collection embodies a poetic dialogue between architecture and nature.
CVL
Les clopes and Co
José Lévy’s Les Clopes and Co collection for CVL combines Art Deco influences with the poetry of Japanese craftsmanship. Inspired by Kokeshis, these sculptural lighting pieces take on a narrative dimension, divided into three distinct families: Les Clopes, Les Co, and Les Dé-Moulures. Blurring the lines between design and emotion, the collection transforms lighting into expressive, character-like objects. Through bold material choices and innovative techniques, José Lévy redefines the relationship between light, space, and imagination.
