MAC VAL
vert-verre
With vert-verre, José Lévy intends to respond to the call of nature that surrounds the MAC VAL. The interior and exterior are designed in unison thanks to clever games of illusions created using mirrors, chrome metal and a palette of shades of green. Bubble glass balls perched on the structural concrete columns, at the entrance and in different areas of the restaurant, are all nods to the birds that inhabit the trees in the garden. The lighting also evokes birds by adopting the stylized shape of a bird hovering in the air. José Lévy in fact designed the place as a true total work of art, where the interior architecture, the furniture, the lighting, the crockery, even the employee uniforms, were designed exclusively for vert-verre, for the sake of unity. The graphic design also recalls the teeming and living character of nature thanks to the line drawings by José Lévy which decorate the green-background tableware and the packaging of the take-out meals. These patterns, silver on the crockery, evoke the traces of small earthworms, these animals so essential to the proper functioning of nature. Attentive to the place of the sensitive in his creations, José Lévy offers the visitor a restaurant designed as a poetic haven, a welcoming winter garden, both unique and relaxing.
