HERMES

Rocks
These three sculptures, head, rump and body, were imagined by José Lévy, artist and designer, and created by artisans from the Hermès workshops. An ode to equine beauty, these pieces show the exposed parts of two fiery stallions, frozen in their momentum, which rear up and spring from the ground. Thanks to meticulous sheathing work, the leather perfectly matches the shape of the structure, and gives these horses a black coat with precise lines. Smooth leathers, Evercalf calfskin and Evergrain calfskin, because they attract the light, emphasize muscular bodies, tense by effort. Thus, like a sculptor, José Lévy was able to convey with vitality all the wild energy and power of these horses. Dressed in different black, smooth or velvety leathers, these rocks are like shadows, playing with the light. The Doblis calf of the rump, pays homage with sensuality to the curves of the animal and calls for caressing. These rocks, spectacular and monumental, are also elements of furniture, to be tamed and tamed. They are an invitation to curl up, take support, or associate. José Lévy plays and establishes a dialogue between the masterful and the familiar, the sculptural piece and the everyday object.
